Director of Reserving

JCW is currently working on behalf of a growing specialty insurance looking for a Director of Actuarial Reserving for their US team. In this newly created role, you will be reporting directly to the Chief Actuary and Chief Risk office and oversee the identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of our total reserve profile, with a particular focus on interactions with reinsurance and risk officers within our group.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and managing reserving systems and measurement tools.
• Engaging with clients and reinsurers on reserving matters.
• Building and leading a team of reserving specialists.
• Providing regular monitoring and reporting to senior management and the board.
• Collaborating with the program risk management team to enhance risk awareness.
• Liaising with third-party actuaries on reserve opinions.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in P&C re/insurance with a focus on reserving and/or pricing
• FCAS or equivalent with Loss Reserve designation
