Job Summary (Primary Function)
The Tax Manager is a newly created role critical to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax-related financial activities. This position requires deep expertise in ASC 740 and experience with complex tax calculations. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in OneSource Tax Provision, possess knowledge of both domestic and international tax concepts, and be comfortable working with large datasets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead preparer of quarterly and annual tax provision workpapers, including tax footnote and other disclosures in accordance with US GAAP, SEC, and other relevant guidance.
Assist with effective tax rate analytics and summaries for management reporting.
Prepare tax journal entries and reconcile tax accounts.
Prepare quarterly intercompany journal entries.
Maintain inventory of uncertain tax positions.
Coordinate SOX documentation for internal and external audits.
Support team members in Europe and Asia with local income tax provisions.
Coordinate with external auditors.
Assist with tax modeling related to proposed legislation.
Contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications
BS or BA in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting or an in-house tax function; combination of Big 4 and industry experience preferred.
Industry experience in pharma or intellectual property–intensive sectors is a plus.
Strong process improvement mindset, with an emphasis on tax technology and automation.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
Proficient in OneSource Tax Provision and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred.
In-depth knowledge of ASC 740 and tax-related financial reporting.
Familiarity with U.S. tax rules, transfer pricing, and international tax concepts.
Income tax compliance experience is a plus.
