One of our leading renewable energy clients is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join their team. This individual will be dedicated to supporting and advising the business development team on originations and acquisitions, with a wide range of responsibilities to facilitate business growth.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide counsel to the business development team under the direction of senior legal and commercial officers.
- Draft and negotiate various commercial agreements, such as Confidentiality Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Leases, Easements, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreements, to support development activities.
- Advise the originations team on responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Review title work and resolve title issues.
Education and Qualifications:
- JD degree and in good standing with a U.S. State Bar.
- Experience in commercial contracting within the renewable energy field, with a preference for experience in the solar industry.
- Extensive real estate experience, along with experience with PPAs and construction agreements.
- Preferred experience with M&A transactions and solar project due diligence.
- Prior experience directly representing solar developers in the C&I markets is preferred.
