Get to know Nick

What is the biggest problem your clients have when recruiting?

The biggest problem clients have is how to backfill a given position that has been held for 5+ years. Very often these are smaller institutions where staff take on various responsibilities that won’t be part of the standard job description of the role elsewhere. Not to mention, salary tends to be higher for those externally than those groomed internally. JCW is committed to not only understanding the technical aspects of the role, but also the softer skills and ad hoc experiences that make a candidate “the one”.

What is the most important skill as a recruiter?

Fire. If you aren’t willing to do what others aren’t, you don’t deserve a seat at the table. You need to always be making that next call to find the perfect candidate for your client. You can’t do that consistently without fire.

Your 3 ideal dinner party guests would be?

Babe Ruth, Genghis Khan, and Julius Caesar. All three were well known for their eating habits and being at the top of whatever their game was.

Interesting fact about you

I speak three languages fluently (English, Italian, and French). I have also studied three others throughout my education (Mandarin, Spanish, and Latin)
