Senior Underwriter

My client is a prominent global health services organization dedicated to enhancing the health, well-being, and peace of mind of their valued customers. With a strong commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions, they are a trusted partner in the healthcare industry.

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Underwriter to join their team in either Antwerp, Belgium, or Glasgow, United Kingdom. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and assessing risks associated with insurance applications, making informed decisions, and contributing to the growth and profitability of their business.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for life, health, and medical insurance applications in line with company guidelines and underwriting principles.
• Analyse applicant information, medical records, and other relevant data to determine the appropriate level of coverage and pricing.
• Collaborate with sales, claims, and other teams to provide underwriting support and address complex inquiries.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Mentor and support junior underwriters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Business, or related disciplines).
• Proven experience as an Underwriter in the insurance industry, with a focus on life and health products.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment techniques, and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with internal teams and interact with clients.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Dutch (for Antwerp) or any other additional language is a plus.
