Director, Project Development (CA)

JCW has partnered with a growing renewable energy company as they are seeking a Director of Project Development, specializing in land acquisition. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating and selecting potential sites for greenfield projects within a specific region. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective collaboration with both internal and external partners, and a deep understanding of real estate transactions. The role can be based anywhere in CA and is a fully remote opportunity!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess potential sites for renewable energy project development, with a specific emphasis on greenfield opportunities in the designated region.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to evaluate site feasibility and viability.
• Conduct site visits, lead due diligence efforts, and participate in negotiations with relevant stakeholders.
• Deliver clear and concise presentations of findings to management.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions that may impact site selection and acquisition.

• Bachelor's degree qualified with 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development.
• In-depth knowledge of real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with property owners, land brokers, and internal team members.
