Compliance Officer - Milan/Madrid International Insurance Company
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team in Milan/Madrid at an international insurance company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and Italian. This role involves ensuring the company's adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, thereby contributing to the maintenance of our company's reputation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess the company's compliance with local and international regulations, standards, and guidelines pertaining to the insurance industry.
- Stay current with evolving regulatory requirements and communicate changes effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring they are in line with both local and global compliance standards.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with various business units to provide compliance guidance and support for new initiatives, products, and services.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, responding to inquiries and findings in a timely manner.
- Investigate and report any instances of non-compliance, recommending corrective actions to prevent future violations.
- Provide compliance training to employees, promoting a culture of awareness and understanding.
- Participate in the development and execution of compliance monitoring and testing programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, reports, and documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and assist in the preparation of regulatory filings.
- Assist in the development of compliance-related reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of compliance strategies to address emerging risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CRCM, CAMS) is a plus.
- Proven experience (3-7 years) in a compliance role within the insurance industry, preferably within an international context.
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and related compliance standards.
- Proficiency in either Spanish or Italian languages. Both is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and assess their impact on the business.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams and effectively conveying compliance matters.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and propose innovative compliance solutions.
- Proficiency in using compliance software, tools, and systems.
