Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Casualty Claims Handler to join our team on a freelance basis for an initial 3-month period, with the possibility of extension up to 6-12 months based on project needs. You will be responsible for managing and processing casualty insurance claims for our international clients, ensuring prompt and efficient service. This role will focus on claims relating to public liability, product liability, and employer’s liability.
The ideal candidate will be an independent, detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in casualty claims handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Handling: Independently manage a portfolio of casualty claims, ensuring timely processing from notification to settlement.
- Investigation: Conduct comprehensive investigations into claims, including reviewing policy documentation, gathering statements, and analyzing reports from adjusters and other third parties.
- Assessment & Decision Making: Evaluate claims to determine coverage, liability, and settlement amounts in line with policy terms and conditions.
- Negotiation: Negotiate settlements with claimants, legal representatives, and third-party providers to ensure a fair resolution.
- Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with claimants, brokers, and internal teams throughout the claims process.
- Documentation: Ensure all claims are thoroughly documented and tracked in the claims management system, in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance: Adhere to local and international legal guidelines, regulations, and company policies.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on claim statuses and prepare reports on claim trends, outcomes, and potential risk areas.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in casualty claims handling, preferably in a multinational insurance environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Insurance, Business, or related field is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of casualty insurance products (public liability, employer’s liability, product liability).
- Proven negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Languages: Fluency in both French and English is essential. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Technology: Familiarity with claims management systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Freelance Availability: Ability to commit to a 3-month project with potential to extend up to 6-12 months.
