What is the biggest problem your clients have when recruiting?
Time. Many times, clients seeking a niche skillset will spot a qualified candidate, but they will take too long in between the interview process. The longer the process takes, the likelihood this candidate is speaking with other companies, where a process may be moving quicker due to how active this candidate is in the market. This can sometimes look like a lack of interest in the candidate’s eyes and an acceptance with another firm that offers first.
What is the most important skill as a recruiter?
Listening. This is just as important when working with a client and/or a candidate. By not listening to what exactly your client or candidate is looking for, you’re wasting your time and most importantly, your clients and candidate’s time if you’re delivering candidates/roles that aren’t to their expectations. This can put a strain in a valuable relationship. Quality over quantity, always.
